Ontario apple time! The cooler temperatures in the Autumn beg for warm and cozy foods and applesauce hits the spot. This recipe makes around 2-3 cups of applesauce.
8 apples of your choice, I like using McIntosh for applesauce, peeled and roughly chopped
freshly squeezed lemon juice from 1 small lemon
2 tbsp of water
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of coconut sugar (optional)
1. Put all ingredients in a saucepan, cover, and simmer on low for 20-25 minutes.
2. In 20 minutes the apples should be nice and soft that you can mash with a wooden spoon or fork. Put in a blender if you want a thinner consistency.
